Engage the people in housing design…and they will meet you half way

7th November 2014

Inspiring video, watch time 15 mins

Faced with the challenge of building better living standards than existing slums with limited budget, Alejandro Aravena invited the community to get involved. The reults may seem surprising, with only half a house for each family built! Yet, by involving the community in the design process that is exactly what they wanted...with the families themselves building the other half...brilliant!!

The result has to be a social-political success and much can be learned from this I believe...engage the people and they will meet you half way.
